Malgrat de Mar enjoys an excellent location and is perfectly connected by road:
• From the South (Barcelona): The most direct option is the Maresme highway C-32, taking the exit towards Palafolls / Malgrat de Mar. It can also be easily accessed via the N-II national road.
• From the North and France: Follow the AP-7 highway to exit 11 (Sant Celoni / Montseny) heading towards Vallgorguina to connect with the C-32, or use exit 9 (Lloret / Blanes) driving south on the GI-682.
• Local Connection: The GI-682 coastal road directly connects Malgrat with the neighboring towns of Santa Susanna, Blanes, and Lloret de Mar.
The municipality features multiple free and paid public parking areas located near the main hotel and sports zones.
The main reference international airports are Girona-Costa Brava (35 km away) and Barcelona-El Prat (84 km away). Both airports operate numerous domestic and international flights daily, and offer excellent public transport connections by bus and train to the region.
Unlike other municipalities in the area, Malgrat de Mar has its own train station right in the center of the town.
The R1 line of Rodalies de Catalunya (Commuter Rail) directly connects the Malgrat de Mar Station with the center of Barcelona in a direct journey of approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, with trains every 30 minutes. In addition, there are regular bus lines operated by Sagalés linking the town with the airports and surrounding Costa Brava villages.
