How to Arrive
You can travel to Malgrat de Mar by several means of transport. It is ideally located on the Mediterranean coastline, midway between Barcelona and Girona ( 50 Km from both cities).
By car the best way is by the N-II road, or on the C-32 motorway. The new C-60 motorway between Mataró and Granollers has opened up a new route and helped communications to the interior of Catalonia. It is now possible to arrive in Malgrat de Mar from Sabadell, Terrassa, Vic and other major catalan towns in less than 60 minutes. It is also possible to arrive in Malgrat de Mar by road using public transport.
The excellent location of Malgrat de Mar, brings visitors from all over Europe by plane, arriving both at Barcelona and Girona airports. As you can see, Malgrat de Mar is easily reached by road/rail/air and this is part of the reason the town remains at the forefront of tourist destinations in Catalonia.
The railway is the most important public transport route to Malgrat de Mar and the most used.The line joins the town to Barcelona, Girona, the rest of the Costa Brava and Barcelona airport. Trains run every hour and are more frequent in the summer months.
